These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern use of the services provided on this website, FairSplit (“the Service”). FairSplit helps groups manage shared expenses and split bills fairly, including weighted splits. By using the Service, you (“user”) agree to these Terms.

Scope
These Terms apply to all use of the Service between you and us. Using the Service constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
Privacy policy
We handle personal information according to our separately published Privacy Policy. You agree to that policy when using the Service.
Eligibility
The Service is intended for individuals aged 18 or older. If a minor uses the Service, we assume parental or guardian consent. Use may be restricted in certain countries or regions.

User content
You retain copyright in content you submit (comments, images, reviews, etc.), but you grant us a royalty-free license to use such content as needed to operate the Service. You warrant your content does not infringe third-party rights and you resolve any disputes at your own expense.
Payments between users
Money transfers between users are solely your responsibility. We are not responsible for processing payments or compensating failed payments.
Bill-splitting calculations
FairSplit optimizes in-group payments using each member’s advances and minimizes the number of transfers. Weighted splits support fair (not necessarily equal) sharing.
Changes to the Service
We may change or discontinue the Service without notice and are not liable for any resulting damage.
Intellectual property
All content related to the Service (text, images, programs, etc.) is owned by us or licensors. You may not copy, reuse, or sell it without prior permission.

Disclaimer
We are not liable for: damage from downloading third-party content or visiting third-party sites linked from our site; damage from tampering, unauthorized access, malware, or similar despite reasonable safeguards; or any damage from using or not using the site (including indirect or non-financial harm). If we are liable despite the above, liability applies only for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence and is limited to direct, ordinary damages.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.
